The formation of ASEAN changed the map of world economic power which previously was centered only on America and China. Through ASEAN many emerging policies and agreements bring about changes to Asian economic growth, and the most talked about to date is the AEC (Asian Economic Community). The idea of the formation of the AEC was planned in 1997 through the summit in Malaysia, at that time the idea emerged because it was based on the desire to create a new region that has prosperity, political stability, and competitive economic growth. Then this idea continued to strengthen until a summit in Bali was held in October 2003 that resulted in an AEC agreement to materialize in 2020.
